Fantasy News and Notes - Bridgewater traded to the Saints and more!
- Teddy Bridgewater has been traded by the New York Jets to the New Orleans Saints for a 3rd round pick. There's no immediate fantasy impact as he will be backup to Drew Brees and Sam Darnold was going to be the starter for the New York Jets anyway. But, what a steal for the Jets. They paid Bridgewater $500K to take some pre-season reps for them and turned it into a 3rd round pick. - Brett Hundley has been traded by the Green Bay Packers to the Seattle Seahawks for a 2019 sixth-round pick. No fantasy impact here either as the Seahawks have Russell Wilson and Brett Hundley sucks. - Adam Gase projects 15-20 carries and 6-8 targets per game for Kenyan Drake. This is a great development for Drake owners as he appears to be distancing himself from Frank Gore. - Cameron Meredith is expected to play a lot in the Saints 4th pre-season game. ADD Tre'Quan Smith if he is available. He could be starting alongside Michael Thomas. - Despite reports saying Le'Veon Bell would report to Steelers camp on Monday, Bell denies the report and his status is still up in the air. Bell owners should be handcuffing him with James Conner. - Jerick McKinnon has been doing conditioning drills. Make sure to add Alfred Morris if you own McKinnon as he appears to be the best handcuff and the likely week 1 starter if McKinnon can't play. - George Kittle is back at practice and should be good to go Week 1. - Alshon Jeffery is expected to miss the first two games of the season and then is hopeful to return week 3. Bump up Ertz. Bump up Agholor for weeks 1-2. - Sony Michel returned to practice on Monday for the New England Patriots.
- Doug Baldwin said his injured knee will not be at 100% at all this season. Bump him down draft boards as this is a shocking admission from the player and could be a lingering issue all season. - Brandon Marshall is not expected to make the Seattle Seahawks. Huge bump to Tyler Lockett if Marshall is in fact cut. Especially after Lockett signed a big extension with the Seahawks on Wednesday. - Mike McCarthy said he is expecting Jamaal Williams to have a big year at running back for the Packers. I have touted Williams this pre-season, but we really won't know what his season will look like until Week 3 when Aaron Jones returns from suspension and we can see how the workload is split up between those two and Ty Montgomery. Ideally if you draft Williams - draft Aaron Jones too. - Dez Bryant expects to play this season, but does not expect to sign with a team until the season is underway. Huge hit to those expecting season-long value for Dez. - Ameer Abdullah is expected to play a lot in the Detroit Lions final pre-season game. Not a good sign for the once promising young back. He could be on the roster bubble or he could be traded. Huge bumps to LeGarrette Blount and Kerryon Johnson's value if Abdullah is cut or dealt. - Old news at this point, but Marqise Lee is out for the season. Keelan Cole is the guy you want out of the Jacksonville WR's. It is unlikely they will be able to support multiple season-long productive WR's with Blake Bortles throwing the ball, but after Cole you would want Dede Westbrook and Donte Moncrief.
