Week 7 Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Express: ALL ABOARD!!!

The Waiver Wire Express is leaving the station.

Next Stop: Week 7

This weekly column will tell you all about players I am adding off the waiver wire as well as suggested FAAB amounts. I will also tell you which players I feel comfortable dropping at each position. Pay close attention to your league settings. If you have an injured player and have an IR slot – you’re much better off stashing them on IR as opposed to just dropping them. I try to include clips of each player's highlights from the previous week so I can put the proof right in this waiver wire pudding.

In general, recommended players will be 50% owned or less in Yahoo leagues (some players may be just over).

1. Jameis Winston

2. Mitchell Trubisky

3. Baker Mayfield

1. Latavius Murray

2. Peyton Barber

6. Handcuffs

Wide Receivers:

1. Keke Coutee

2. Geronimo Allison

3. Taylor Gabriel

9. Willie Snead IV

10. Cole Beasley

11. Tyrell Williams

12. Albert Wilson

Tight Ends:

1. Vance McDonald

2. Ricky Seals-Jones

1. Greg Zuerlein

2. Dan Bailey

3. Jason Myers

4. Brett Maher

1. Denver Broncos

2. Dallas Cowboys

3. Indianapolis Colts

4. Atlanta Falcons

1. Derek Carr – OAK (40% Owned): He simply can’t be trusted and he appeared to be very emotional and upset at the end of their game (some say even crying). He’s heading on a Bye and needs to be dropped.

2. Marcus Mariota – TEN (39% Owned): One good game so far this season. One game over 129 yards. Two touchdowns (both in the same game) all season. He’s playing hurt and owning him will hurt your lineup. Drop.

1. Jameis Winston – TB (59% Owned): So he’s over 50% owned, but I need to talk about Famous Jameis. He took an ‘L’ on Sunday, but anyone who started him against the lowly Falcons defense likely ate a ‘W’. In his first start back he threw for 395 yards and 4 touchdowns. He’s by far the best option for QB’s on the wire.

Upcoming Schedule: CLE, @CIN, @CAR, WAS

FAAB Bid: $15-20

2. Mitchell Trubisky – CHI (29% Owned): He caught mine and everyone else’s attention in Week 4 throwing for 354 yards and a six pack of touchdowns. It may have slipped under the radar with the bye week, but Trubisky came out against the Dolphins and shredded them too. He threw for 316 yards and 3 TDs. Now he gets the Patriots bottom 10 ranked Pass Defense at home in Chicago. I think he can have some success here and he’s got a few other great matchups coming up against Buffalo and the Lions twice. You gotta risk it for the Trubiscuits.

Upcoming Schedule: NE, NYJ, @BUF, DET

FAAB Bid: $10-15

3. Baker Mayfield – CLE (42% Owned): The stock is definitely dropping here as Baker ha failed to eclipse 20 points in a fantasy matchup and has just 4 touchdowns and 5 interceptions since becoming a starter. The talent is there, but he really lacks good WR help. Outside of Jarvis Landry (who is under-producing), there’s just not much else to like in Cleveland in the passing game. I am mentioning Baker because the matchups are great for the next month. In this order he’ll play the 31st, 28th, 32nd, 30th, 29th ranked pass defenses. He’s a must-start in 2 QB leagues and if you don’t have a QB you could not ask for better matchups. Baker has to perform here. It’s a crucial stretch for his fantasy season.

Upcoming Schedule: @TB, @Pit, KC, ATL

FAAB Bid: $5-10

4. Joe Flacco – BAL (27% Owned): The Ravens are going to have to throw early and often to compete with the Saints. Flacco is capable of putting up big numbers, but the Ravens game script has gotten away from that a little bit. If you’re desperate – try Flacco. The weapons are certainly adequate and I don’t see them sticking around with the Saints unless they throw heavily. He could be good again against the Steelers in Week 9.

Upcoming Schedule: NO, @CAR, PIT, BYE

FAAB Bid: $2-4

1. Ronald Jones II – TB (31% Owned): Jameis came back. Shootout style matchup. Barber plays in passing situations and catches a touchdown pass. Jones is not worth owning after the day Barber had Sunday, especially because I don’t believe Jones is even a full time handcuff to Barber.

2. Jay Ajayi – PHI (30% Owned): Torn ACL. See you next season. What are we waiting for here?

1. Latavius Murray – MIN (49% Owned): Dalvin Cook just cannot seem to get healthy or stay healthy this season. If Murray is available in your league – he’s a good speculative add for when Cook goes down. He is a Must-Own player for all Dalvin Cook owners.

Upcoming Schedule: @NYJ, NO, DET, BYE

FAAB Bid: $10-15 ($20-25 for Cook Owners)

2. Peyton Barber – TB (33% Owned): Well this guy’s value moved up quick. He played well on Sunday and deserves a spot on your bench or can be a bye-week fill-in. He had 13 carries for 82 yards on Sunday, but even more impressive was that he was involved in the passing game catching 4 balls (on 4 targets) for 24 yards and a touchdown. Add Peyton, because this Barber does his best work on Sundays!

Upcoming Schedule: CLE, @CIN, @CAR, WAS

FAAB Bid: $10-15

3. Marlon Mack – IND (26% Owned): It's the Return of the Mack! So, baby, listen carefully, while he sings his come-back song.

He’s finally healthy and ran the ball really effectively on Sunday racking up 89 yards on just 12 carries. He was instantly inserted into the starting lineup and is the favorite for touches in the Indy backfield.

Upcoming Schedule: Buf, @OAK, BYE, JAX

FAAB Bid: $10-15

4. Frank Gore – MIA (10% Owned): Gore 'The Snore' woke up on Sunday. He drank his metamucil, drove to the stadium and then ran the ball 15 times for 101 yards. He has 12+ touches in his last 3 games. Kenyan Drake has been largely ineffective and had a fumble that nearly cost the Dolphins the game. Gore is a Must-Own player if you have Drake, but he could be an RB3 or Flex Play down the road if his touches remain in the mid teens.

Upcoming Schedule: DET, @HOU, NYJ, @GB

FAAB Bid: $8-10 ($10-12 for Drake owners)

5. Ito Smith – ATL (9% Owned): He has a touchdown in 3 straight games and is filling Devonta Freeman’s role while he is dealing with a myriad of injuries. He’s not super efficient, but he is finding the endzone every week. He’s worth an add on the end of your bench.

Upcoming Schedule: NYG, BYE, @WAS, @CLE

FAAB Bid: $4-6 ($8-10 for Freeman or Coleman owners)

6. Handcuffs: The injuries are starting to pile up at Running Back. Do not get caught without your handcuff and end up having to pay through the nose via FAAB or a trade to get them back. If you need this handcuff – add them now or trade for them. I am not going to list heavily owned RB’s as part of committees (Bilal Powell), clear receiving backs only (James White and Austin Ekeler) or heavily owned handcuffs, over 75% owned (TJ Yeldon).

Here is a list of handcuffs that need to be owned (in no particular order):

1. Rod Smith – DAL

2. Malcolm Brown – LAR

3. Spencer Ware – KC

4. Latavius Murray – MIN

5. Giovani Bernard – CIN

6. Wayne Gallman – NYG

7. Alfred Blue – HOU

8. Nick Chubb – CLE

9. Mike Davis – SEA

10. Ito Smith – ATL

11. Kenjon Barner – NE

12. C.J. Anderson – CAR

13. Chase Edmonds – ARI

14. Doug Martin – OAK

15. Buck Allen – BAL

16. Kapri Bibbs – WAS

17. Chris Ivory – BUF

18. LeGarrette Blount – DET

19. Jamaal Williams – GB

20. Alfred Morris – SF

21. Frank Gore – MIA

1. Keke Coutee – HOU (47% Owned): KeKe - Do you love me? Are you riding? 20 catches on 27 targets for 193 yards and a touchdown so far in his 3 game season. He’s playing the slot in Houston and getting a ton of looks and they trying to find creative ways to get the ball in his hands. Will Fuller is inevitably going to get hurt at some point too. At which point Keke’s value is going to be even higher. Add Keke and let him love you.

Upcoming Schedule: @JAX, MIA, @DEN, BYE

FAAB Bid: $15-20

2. Geronimo Allison – GB (46% Owned): I expect him to come back healthy after the bye and return to his WR3 role in the Green Bay offense. He had 29 targets in the first 4 games this season and scored double digit fantasy points in 3 out of the 4 games.

Upcoming Schedule: @LAR, @NE, MIA, @SEA

FAAB Bid: $10-15

3. Taylor Gabriel – CHI (22% Owned): Gabriel has been on fire the past two weeks catching all 12 of his targets for 214 yards and 2 TDs. He leads Bears WRs in targets since Week3, with 22. Next up is Allen Robinson with 17. He’s playing out of the slot and making big plays downfield. He had a 54 yard catch on Sunday. He’s becoming a strong WR3 or flex play off the bench.

Upcoming Schedule: NE, NYJ, @BUF, DET

FAAB Bid: $10-15

4. Marquise Goodwin – SF (41% Owned): 4 catches for 126 yards and 2 touchdowns on Monday night. He looks healthy and CJ Beathard throws a nice deep ball (apparently). It's time to hop on the Goodwin and do the bad thing.

Upcoming Schedule: LAR, @ARI, OAK, NYG

FAAB Bid: $10-15

5. Tre’Quan Smith – NO (2% Owned): He may have flown under the radar with the bye week, but lets not forget what he was able to do the week before. He started opposite Michael Thomas (which is the most important thing). If you are a starting WR in the New Orleans offense – I am inherently interested in you. He took full advantage catching all 3 of his targets for 111 yards and 2 TDs. If he remains the starter – he has huge upside.

Upcoming Schedule: @BAL, @MIN, LAR, @CIN

FAAB Bid: $10-15

6. Chris Godwin – TB (38% Owned): He had a nice bounce back game after a rough Week 4 (followed by his bye week). He turned 9 targets into 6 catches for 56 yards and a touchdown. There are a lot of mouths to feed in this Tampa Bay offense, but Godwin will have some nice games along the way. Treat him as a weekly WR3/Flex.

Upcoming Schedule: CLE, @CIN, @CAR, WAS

FAAB Bid: $8-10

7. Christian Kirk – ARI (14% Owned): Aye, Aye Captain! Captain Kirk may be the best WR in Arizona and he’s certainly performing like it. He has 77+ yards in 3 out of his last 4 games and has had a good rapport with Josh Rosen stemming from the pre-season. Kirk is a WR4 flirting with WR3 value if this production continues.

Upcoming Schedule: DEN, SF, BYE, @KC

FAAB Bid: $8-10

8. Robby Anderson – NYJ (35% Owned): He exploded two weeks ago for 123 yards on 3 catches for 2 TDs. He followed that up with another 5 targets, but not nearly the same results. He’s worth a bench stash and is best treated as a boom-or-bust WR3 or Flex.

Upcoming Schedule: MIN, @CHI, @MIA, BUF

FAAB Bid: $8-10

9. Willie Snead IV – BAL (9% Owned): He’s not a spectacular option, but he’s involved enough in the Baltimore offense to be a useful bye week or injury replacement. He’s averaging over 7 targets per game this year and although he only has one touchdwown – he does have 30 catches for 313 yards. The 30 catches are tied for 21st best in the league amongst WR and the 313 yards are 34th best among WR’s.

Upcoming Schedule: NO, @CAR, PIT, BYE

FAAB Bid: $4-6

10. Cole Beasley – DAL (9% Owned): Someone has to catch the passes in Dallas. He’s the best they have. He had a season high 11 targets, 9 catches, 101 yards and scored his first two touchdowns of the season on Sunday against the Jaguars. Hopefully this kickstarts his (and Dak Prescott’s season) and he becomes a usable asset in fantasy.

Upcoming Schedule: @WAS, BYE, TEN, @PHI

FAAB Bid: $4-6

11. Tyrell Williams – LAC (9% Owned): Mike Williams has cooled off and Williams got hot on Sunday. He caught 3 balls for 118 yards and 2 TD’s. Keep him on your radar as a dart throw WR moving forward.

Upcoming Schedule: TEN, BYE, @SEA, @OAK

FAAB Bid: $2-4

12. Albert Wilson – MIA (10% Owned): Hey Mr. Wilsonnn! He’s had a couple splash games this season, but none were bigger than Sunday as he had great rapport with Brock Osweiler. He had a season high 11 targets, which he turned into 6 catches for 155 yards and 2 touchdowns. I’m not treating him as anything other than a dart throw right now, but he’s definitely on the radar, especially if Osweiler gets more time at QB. Also, there’s a few burnable secondarys coming up on the schedule.

Upcoming Schedule: DET, @HOU, NYJ, @GB

FAAB Bid: $2-4

TIGHT ENDS TO ADD (If available I would add 1.Austin Hooper 2. OJ Howard 3. Cameron Brate in that order)

1. Vance McDonald – PIT (50% Owned): He’s the Tight End to own in Pittsburgh and may fly under the radar a little bit heading in to a bye. If you need help at Tight End, he’s as good as it gets. 7 catches on 8 targets for 68 yards on Sunday.

Upcoming Schedule: BYE, CLE, @BAL, CAR

FAAB Bid: $8-10

2. Ricky Seals-Jones – ARI (21% Owned): He’s up to 31 targets on the season which is 10th amongst tight ends. He’s coming off his best game catching 5 out of 6 targets for 69 yards. With Tight End being as bad as it is this season, maybe Seals-Jones can keep it rolling.

Upcoming Schedule: DEN, SF, BYE, @KC

FAAB Bid: $0-1

1. Greg Zuerlein – LAR (46% Owned): Greg 'The Leg' is one of the best kickers in the league and he’s tied to the number 1 offense in the league. If you need a kicker, he’s the best available.

2. Dan Bailey – MIN (51% Owned): Three straight games with 10+ fantasy points. He should excel leading up to the bye playing the Jets, Saints and Lions.

3. Jason Myers – NYJ (2% Owned): The Jets defense has been on fire lately and Jason Myers has been a big beneficiary of that. He connected on 7 field goals on Sunday and is the highest scoring kicker on the season.

4. Brett Maher – DAL (6% Owned): Maher has been impressive and is the 2nd highest scoring kicker this season. He’s booted 3 from over 50 yards out a total of 7 from over 40 yards.

1. Denver Broncos (44% Owned): They played tough against a really good Rams offense. They sacked Goff 5 times and only allowed 23 points. Now they get to face the rookie QB Josh Rosen who has a 2:2 TD: INT ratio and has been sacked 7 times in just over 3 games. The Broncos should be able to get to Rosen and force some sacks and turnovers.

2. Dallas Cowboys (23% Owned): Ugh, another road team. Oh well. They held the Jaguars to just 7 points on Sunday, had 3 sacks, and forced 2 turnovers. I think they can keep the Redskins in check and be a fine back end streaming DST. The Cowboys are tied for 5th in the NFL in Sacks with 18 on the season.

3. Indianapolis Colts (6% Owned): They play the Bills at Home. I like their chances of creating some turnovers, especially if Nathan Peterman gets the start.

4. Atlanta Falcons (19% Owned): The Giants are imploding and it could continue in spectacular fashion on Monday Night Football in Atlanta. The Falcons should be plenty fired up and the Giants are playing just awful football right now outside of Saquon Barkley.

RECOMMENDED FOR DEEP LEAGUES: QB Brock Osweiler, QB Case Keenum, RB Mike Davis, RB Darren Sproles, RB Jalen Richard, RB Rashaad Penny, RB Raheem Mostert, RB Alfred Blue, RB Gus Edwards, RB D’Onta Foreman, WR Torrey Smith, WR Jermaine Kearse, WR David Moore, WR Dede Westbrook, WR Damion Ratley, WR Zay Jones, WR Danny Amendola, WR Chester Rogers (if TY Hilton does not return), WR Antonio Callaway, WR Terrelle Pryor, WR Marquez Valdes-Scantling (if Allison and Cobb don’t return after the bye), WR Paul Rirchardson, TE Nick O'Leary, TE Chris Herndon, TE Vernon Davis, TE Jesse James, TE CJ Uzomah, TE Jeff Heuerman, TE Ben Watson
