Week 7 Waiver Wire Adds & FAAB Bids
Top 10 Adds
Tee Higgins ($20-$24)
Tim Patrick ($18-$22)
Chase Claypool ($16-$18)
Mike Williams ($10-$15)
Justin Jackson ($10-$15)
Justin Herbert ($10-$15)
JaMycal Hasty ($6-$10)
Adam Humphries ($8-$10)
Rob Gronkowski ($7-$10)
Boston Scott ($6-$8)
Notes:
All adds will be under 60% owned
FAAB recommendations are based on $100 budget
Bids are a combination of how much I would be willing to pay and how much I believe each player is worth.
Don't overbid on the flavor of the week! There will be more players coming.
Handcuff your backs! It’s cuffing SZN. Failing to do so at this point could cost you your remaining FAAB budget or your season. Lock em’ up!
Quarterbacks
Justin Herbert
Gardner Minshew
Ryan Fitzpatrick
Jimmy Garoppolo
Teddy Bridgewater
Justin Herbert (54% rostered)
Really strong arm. Fast and able to throw accurately on the run.
PFF 73.3 passing grade on season (18th) Burrow is highest rookie with grade of 74.9 (15)
Averaging 299 yards passing per game
3 TD (@TB) and 4 TD (@NO) in the last two games.
These were not easy matchups as TB just completely shut down Aaron Rodgers and Saints are allowing the 7th fewest passing yards on the season
Vs the Saints he threw 3TD in the first half in his first ever Monday night game
96 QBR under pressure (5th). Bit of a magician in the pocket.
107.6 QBR on deep attempts
18 deep attempts through 4 games (20 yards or more downfield). Averaging 4.5 per game. For perspective, Russel Wilson is averaging 4.4 per game
5th best SoS RoS (PFF). FFtoday SoS = No negative matchups RoS (red matchup)
Jax @Den LV after the bye.
Recommended FAAB Bid: $10-$15
Gardner Minshew (52% rostered)
Averaging 21 points per week
240 attempts (3rd)
4th in passing yards
4th in TD
5 INT (3 is league average)
Good upcoming matchup @LAC +18.0% Fantasy Points Against QB (over league average)
DJ Chark getting at full health will only help Minshew to continue to be a quality low end QB1 and streaming option.
Recommended FAAB Bid: $8-$10
Ryan Fitzpatrick (48% rostered)
Decent, but underwhelming week 6
He still had 3 TD and 21 Fantasy Points. That is the floor for Fitz most weeks.
He will have the occasional atrocious game, but since week 1 he has been stellar.
9th overall QB going into week 6.
7th best SoS (PFF)
Next two matchups are not great. LAR @AZ
FAAB Recommendation: $8-$10
*UPDATE* Fitzpatrick has officially been benched for Tua Tagovailoa in Miami. Tua makes an interesting QB add in all leagues ($8-$10)
Jimmy Garoppolo (29% rostered)
3TD and 26 fantasy points vs the Rams this week
Looks to be fully healthy and just got Deebo Samuel back
Revenge game vs NE upcoming then plus matchup @SEA in week 8
If you need someone week 8 for bye weeks he is a sneaky addition if you have the bench room
FAAB Recommendation: $2-$3
Teddy Bridgewater (45% rostered)
CMC returning soon will significantly boost the value of Bridgewater. Mike Davis has been great, but CMC is arguably the best back in the league and makes this offense so much more dynamic.
The ATL matchup in week 8 is what makes him interesting to me.
ATL has allowed 2002 passing yards (1st) and 18 TD (1st) 184 PA (4th)
Falcons did come away with their first win this week and picked off Kirk Cousins 3 times in the first half
Falcons allowed Minnesota to convert only three of 10 third-down attempts, sacked Cousins once and were credited with eight quarterback hits.
Monitor the ATL defense performance vs DET next week and if they are back to their sucky ways go ahead and fire up Bridgewater in week 8
FAAB Recommendation: $1-$2
Just missed the 60% cutoff
Make sure these guys are not available!
Ryan Tannehill (68% rostered)
Tannehill has put up 30+ fantasy points in 3 of his last 4 and just got back AJ Brown who has looked dominant the past two weeks.
Great player to have on your bench as a streamer or backup.
I have him as a top 12 option ROS
FAAB Recommendation: $12-$15
Running Backs
Justin Jackson
JaMycal Hasty
Boston Scott
Giovanni Bernard
J.D. McKissic
Justin Jackson (46% rostered)
Austin Ekeler is still 3-4 weeks away and Jackson took full control of the backfield in week 5
In week 5 Jackson had 15 carries for 71 yards (4.7 avg) and 5 catches on 6 targets
We talked about Herbert and I think you want a piece of this Chargers offense if you can get it.
According to PFF the week 7 matchup vs JAX is the 3rd best for running backs
FAAB Recommendation: $10-$15
JaMycal Hasty (0% rostered)
Raheem Mostert went down with an ankle injury this week and was unable to return. He will be placed on the short term IR and will likely miss the next 3 games
Jeff Wilson Jr. is also banged up with a calf injury and Shanahan said he is "a longshot" to play this week
McKinnon and Hasty will share the workload but Hasty looked like the more explosive player this week
Up Next -> @NE-22.3%, @SEA -13.8%, GB 45.1%, @NO 2.7%
FAAB Recommendation: $6-$10
Boston Scott (14% rostered)
Eagles’ RB Miles Sanders’ knee injury is expected to sideline him 1-2 weeks, per Chris Mortenson / Adam Schefter.
Thursday night game upcoming makes it highly unlikely Sanders will be ready to go
Philly will likely go run by committee with Boston Scott, Corey Clement, and Jason Huntley.
Scott has only handled 10 or more carries 3 times in his 3 year career
Has not received more than 4 targets all season.
In week 7 he goes up against the Giants who just held Washington to 3.6 yards per carry on 24 rush attempts, but Antonio Gibson and J.D. McKissic combined for 10 receptions for 68 yards.
There is potential for 8-10 carries and 3-5 targets this week, but I think that would be on the high end.
Sanders did miss week 1 and Scott only put up 6 fantasy points that game so don’t get your hopes up.
FAAB Recommendation: $6-$8
Giovanni Bernard (6% rostered)
Epic moustache. P-Tash knows a thing or two about a professional mustache.
If Mixon misses time, Gio is likely a top 25 fantasy option.
He scored a TD once Mixon went down this week and received 8 carries and 3 targets on the day.
Going back to Mixon 's rookie season in 2017, Bernard has played at least 60% of the snaps six times for the Bengals and he is averaging 19.3 Fantasy points per game in those six games. (Chris Towers at CBS)
Since Mixon's rookie season (2017) in the games Mixon has missed where Bernard was the fill in he has the following point totals in 1/2 pt PPR: 16, 12, 17, 24
2017: week 6 (OUT), 14 (16), 15 (11.8)
2018: week 3 (17.1), 4 (23.6), 9 (OUT)
2019: Mixon did not miss a game
In week 7 he goes up against the Browns who are coming off a 38-7 beatdown by the Steelers in which James Conner rushed for 101 yards and a touchdown on 20 carries.
Pay attention to injury reports on Mixon's health
FAAB Recommendation: $4-$6 or $12-$16 for Mixon owners
J.D. McKissic (12% rostered)
McKissic is emerging as a weekly flex play
6, 6, 7, 11 in last 4 games (½ PPR)
At least 6 receptions in each of past 3 games.
This week he also had 8 attempts for 41 yards (5.1)
No TD yet on the year means he could be due for a score
FAAB Recommendation: $3-$5
Frank Gore (31% rostered)
Gore is a super low ceiling play, but he is guaranteed touches and always has a chance to plop in for a TD
11 carries this week and has at least 11 in 4 of last 5 games
Held under 50 yards in the past 3 weeks
Did have a season high 4 targets this week which he turned into 4 receptions for 24 yards
If the usage in the passing game continues Gore will be a lot more valuable moving forward.
Next up is a home matchup vs Buffalo (26th fewest rushing yards allowed). Not good.
FAAB Recommendation: $5-$6
Gus Edwards (3% rostered)
Gus “The Bus” has been getting consistent work as the second option in the Baltimore backfield the past few weeks
Ingram went down with injury and Gus filled in admirably with 14 carries for 26 yards (1.9) and 1 TD
Ravens are on bye this week, which gives Ingram time to recover, but this highlights his potential value if something happens to Ingram long term.
If Ingram is ruled out in week 8 Edwards will be a flex play vs PIT
FAAB Recommendation: $1-$2 or $5-$10 for Ingram owners
Jamaal Williams (24% rostered)
Quality handcuff for Aaron Jones owners
Would become an instant RB1 if there was an injury
If you’re speculating on a potential injury, Williams is one of the highest value cuffs
FAAB Recommendations: $1-2 or $5-$6 for Aaron Jones owners
Players who just missed the 60% ownership cutoff
Make sure these players are not available in your league!
D'Andre Swift (75% rostered)
Swift is most likely rostered in your league, however he was a borderline drop last week and is available now in 25% of leagues
Put up 14 carries for 116 and 2TD
A big portion of his rushing total came on a 55 yard rush through a massive hole, but the 14 carries and 4 targets coming out of the bye week shows us what Detroit wants to do moving forward.
Swift was an early second round pick and one of the highest graded RB prospects on NFL.com
If he is out there I would bid fairly aggressively to see how this situation plays out.
If you’ve hung onto Swift for this long I would continue to hold instead of selling high.
FAAB Recommendation: $12-$16
Philip Lindsey (68% rostered)
Lindsey looked really good this week vs the Patriots and put up 100 yards on 23 carries without Melvin Gordon
Gordon got a DUI this week and did not travel with the team
Gordon will likely play in the next 4 games and then serve a 3 game suspension after his November 13th court date
In weeks 10, 11, and 12 Lindsey will have the backfield to himself vs the Raiders, Dolphins and Saints.
Lindsey is a back to back 1000 yard rusher and will contribute even with Gordon in the lineup.
FAAB Recommendation: $12-$16
Alexander Mattison (67% rostered)
Huge disappointment this week as Mattison put up only 3.5 pts vs an ATL defense that was ranked 31st going into the week
10 carries for only 26 yards
1 catch for 4 yards on an insanely low 2 targets
Mattison is heading into the bye week and will likely be dropped by a number of teams.
He is still a premium handcuff and all Cook owners should ensure they invest in Mattison.
FAAB Recommendation: $2-3 or $8-$12 for Cook owners
Damien Harris (62% rostered)
Harris put up a dud this week with 6 carries for only 19 yards vs DEN
Had he put up a strong performance here I would say he is a weekly RB2 moving forward. Instead, I think he is likely no more than a bye week fill in or flex play.
Only 1 target in the passing game and Cam Newton scored a goal line TD
FAAB Recommendation: $5-$7
Adrian Peterson (62% rostered)
DeAndre Swift had a breakout game this week, but Peterson still had 15 carries for 40 yards and a TD
Peterson is a bottom of the barrel, bye-week flex play.
Swift had a season high 14 carries for 116 to go along with 3 receptions on 4 targets
Peterson has put up consistent Flex production with 12, 4, 9, 9, 12 in past 5 weeks
Bye week is behind him. Not a bad option to have on your bench for bye weeks
FAAB Recommendation: $4-$6
Watch List Names
La'Mical Perine (20% rostered)
NYJ are going nowhere fast and they would be smart to see what they have in Perine
7 carries and 3 targets were both season highs
Wide Receiver
Tee Higgins
Tim Patrick
Chase Claypool
Mike Williams
Adam Humphries
Travis Fulgham
Cole Beasley
Keelan Cole
A.J. Green
Tee Higgins (52% rostered)
If you’ve been listening to us at The Fantasy Griddle you added Higgins weeks ago. It’s insane he’s still available in almost 50% of leagues!
Averaging 8 targets over the past 4 weeks
This week put up 6 for 125 on 8 targets.
Tackled at the 2 yard line on a 67 yard catch and had a close end zone target.
18, 11, 8, 16 in past 4 games
He’s an every week WR3 with WR1 upside
4th best SoS RoS (PFF)
Bye week 9
FAAB Recommendation: $20-$24
Tim Patrick (16% rostered)
A lot of fantasy managers needed to cut Tim Patrick last week when he went on bye even after his big week 4 performance
Savvy owners added him back for cheap before his 100 yard week 6 game vs NE
Over 100 yards in back to back games and scored a TD in 2 or his last 3
He now has 12, 20, 12 in past 3 weeks since Courtland Sutton went down
Drew Lock is back and is not afraid to air the ball down the field and sports a 27.4% Deep Ball Rate (1st in the league). Deep Ball Rate = throws over 20 yards
Team leading 8 targets
Week 7 matchup with Kansas City. The Chiefs allow the sixth-fewest fantasy points to receivers, but the Broncos could be forced to air it out often if they are behind by multiple scores.
Jerry Jeudy was covered most of the day by Stephon Gilmore which leads me to believe Patrick will be facing the 2nd best corner weekly.
Bye has passed
17th best SoS RoS (PFF)
Next Up - KC -2.2%, LAC 18.0%, @ATL 49.4%, @LV 0.2%
FAAB Recommendation: $18-$22
Chase Claypool (49% rostered)
4/4 74 yards
It is absurd that a guy who scored 4 TD a week ago is still owned in less than 50% of Yahoo leagues
Claypool is a matchup nightmare and scored again this week on a 3 yard run. Nearly scored on a deep pass (see below)
The target number came down from 11 to 4 which is concerning
A back injury cost Diontae Johnson a game so far, but he was able to practice on a limited basis last week so it doesn’t look like this injury is too serious.
Claypool will remain a threat to score or catch a long pass every week, but I wonder how consistent the production will be once Johnson returns.
Two difficult matchups on deck @Ten and @Bal.
If I was an owner I would be looking to sell high on Claypool this week.
FAAB Recommendation: $16-$18
Mike Williams (45% rostered)
Mike Williams had a big game (prior to their week 6 bye) and he seems to finally have a QB who is willing and able to find him downfield.
Williams is one of the best jump ball receivers in the league.
5/8 109 yards and 2 TDs
Keenan Allen was dealing with back spasms in the Week 5 loss to the Saints and is likely to play week 7 vs Jax.
With Allen on the field it will be tough for Williams to post consistent numbers with Hunter Henry and Allen soaking up most of the targets.
Should Allen miss week 7, Mike Williams becomes a WR2 option with Herbert under center
FAAB Recommendation: $10-$14
Adam Humphries (9% rostered)
Appearing for the first time since Week 3 after spending time on the COVID-19 list, Humphries drew at least six targets for the fourth time in as many 2020 appearances.
6/6 64 yards 1TD
7, 13, 6, 15 in his past 4 games (1/2 ppr)
Similar to Cole Beasley, Humphries is a high floor player who can be used to get you through bye weeks.
Titans already had their bye
FAAB Recommendation: $8-$10
Travis Fulgham (31% rostered)
Fulgham did it again this week by catching 6 balls on 10 targets for 75 yards and a TD
Each week Alshon Jefferey and DeSean Jackson are closer to returning
Eagles are currently “optimistic” both players will return in week 7 which will hurt Fulgham’s value significantly.
Fulgham is a player I would be shopping right now for someone with more reliable targets.
According to PFF SoS, next week’s matchup vs NYG is the most favorable WR matchup of the week. Maybe give him another week then try to move him.
NYG have given up the 10th most receiving yards and 7th most receiving TDs
If Jackson and Jefferey are out I would fire Fulgham up again as a WR2 with upside.
FAAB Recommendation: $8-$10
Cole Beasley (34% rostered)
10+ points in 3 of last 4 (1/2 pt ppr)
Very solid bench and bye week player
Found the endzone tonight and had 4/7 45 yards
@NYJ is a decent matchup then the gets NE and SEA who both are prone to allow WRs to score
FAAB Recommendation: $8-$10
Keelan Cole (29% rostered)
3 games over 13 pts in past 6
No games under 6 pts
Season high 9 targets and 143 receiving yards this week
75% snap share with DJ Chark on the field
Jaguars play a lot of 3 WR sets and Cole is the second option in this offense.
With Chark back Cole is going to get the second CB
@LAC on deck then bye week 9
FAAB Recommendation: $6-$8
AJ Green (54% rostered)
AJ Green is back from the dead!
Season high 11 targets for 8 catches and 96 yards vs a stingy IND defense
AJG also dropped a 50 yard bomb that was underthrown by Joe Burrow
Top ten in air yards heading into week 6 so there is potential here.
If Green was dropped in your league he is worth adding to see if he can have a resurgence.
We should not forget that Green missed the entire 2019 season due to an ankle injury and may have needed a few games to get back to form.
Higgins and Boyd are still my preferred options in this offense, but AJG could serve as a weekly WR3 if the targets remain
FAAB Recommendation: $6-$8
Watch List Names
James Washington (10% rostered)
Washington scored and had a nice day, but he is far too inconsistent to depend on
I would leave him on the wire unless you’re truly desperate.
Monitor his performance and pick him up if there is an injury to the other Pit receivers
FAAB Recommendation: $0
Marcus Johnson (0% rostered)
Who the heck is this guy?
5 of 8 targets for 108 yards for IND in week 6
Tackled at the 1 yard line on a 55 yard bomb
Hilton is not producing
Michael Pittman and Parris Campbell will likely be back after the week 7 bye
Keep an eye on Johnson in case these guys need more time.
FAAB Recommendation: $0
Jaylen Guyton (1% rostered)
This guy passes the eye test and has already caught 2TD from Justin Herbert
If Keenan Allen misses time, Guyton could be more involved
Herbert looked for Guyton deep 3 times this week and connected once for 48
Guyton is too deep to add right now, but add him to your watch list
FAAB Recommendation: $0
Tight End
Rob Gronkowski
Darren Fells
Trey Burton
Anthony Firkser
Irv Smith Jr.
Rob Gronkowski (60% rostered)
5/8 78 TD
8 targets was a season high
First touchdown in 679 days!
TD was a classic end zone fade toss and also had a 2nd end zone target later on
Had a beautiful 31 yard reception and another 20 something yard throw on the sideline.
This was as vintage Gronk as we have seen this year.
If Gronk was dropped I would pick him up and see if this is the start of a resurgence.
Up next - LV, NYG, NOS, CAR, STL
FAAB Recommendation: $7-$10
Darren Fells (5% rostered)
6/7 85 TD
Jordan Akins injured
Fells has 50+ yards and 1TD in each of last 2 weeks
7 targets was a season high for Fells
If Akins is out Fells will be a good matchup play vs GB who just let Gronk go for 5 receptions for 78 yards and a TD
FAAB Recommendation: $4-$5
Trey Burton (20% rostered)
7/11 for 58 and TD
1 yard rushing TD from wildcat
On bye this week
Seems to be the #1 option at TE over Mo-Alie Cox and Jack Doyle
FAAB recommendation: $2-$4
Anthony Firkser (0% rostered)
8/9 113 TD
Jonnu Smith went down with an ankle injury this week and is highly questionable for week 7
PIT is not a good matchup for TEs
If Jonnu is going to miss significant time, Firkser is worth an add as a streamer or bye week replacement.
This week I would look elsewhere to cover you at TE if needed
FAAB recommendation: $2-$4
Watch List Names
Irv Smith Jr (9% rostered)
5 targets in each of the last 2 weeks.
Found the endzone this week with 4 catches for 55 yards
Heading into the bye week, but he is someone to add to your watchlist and stream as needed in the right matchup
FAAB Recommendation: $0
Team Defense
Tampa Bay
Washington
Tampa Bay vs LV (58% rostered)
21 fantasy points this week vs GB
17 fantasy points in week 2 and 20 in week 6
3rd highest scoring defense on the year
Derek Carr only has 1 INT on the year and is due for another 1-2
TB is a good season long add
Next up - @LV @NYG NO @Car
FAAB Recommendation: $6-$7
Washington vs Dallas (33% rostered)
AZ put up 17 points tonight vs Andy Dalton with 2 picks, 2 FR, 3 sacks and 10 pts allowed
Dallas is beat up and looking lost. Washington should capitalize
FAAB recommendation: $3-$4
